Craftsmanship Part - 1

In the last few days Craftsmanship has always been there in my mind. I have been trying to answer this myself,  later realized that I didn't have a clear picture about my craft and how to improve as a craftsman.

These are my current thoughts.

Craftsmanship is about doing what you love and doing it best.

It's about identifying your craft. For many like artists, carpenters it would be their job and they would be constantly looking for ways to improve their craft to master their craft, to become a craftsman.

Craftsmanship is not a destination, it is a life long disciple.

You will never become an expert craftsman, because their would always be something new to improve your craft. The disciple is to create a habit/mindset of constant research. When you begin with this habit, it won't sound to interesting because you are asking yourself to learn which is not everyone's cup of tea. But the slowly you will be able to see the results, you will start to see the improvement in your craft and you will start to enjoy the learning/ journey of becoming a craftsman.

Craftsmanship will be driven by passion and quality.

When you start to see your work as your craft, you will automatically start giving attention to the small details. The quality of your work will be driven or fueled by your passion for your craft.

I will share more thoughts about how other are doing research to improve their craft and will share more of my thoughts in the next blog.
